Future Security its smart, networked, flexibility, ai driven

Key technologies are always characterised by the fact that they are fast-moving, change, develop, spread, can be used in more and more areas, and grow in their possibilities. It is the same with autonomous robotics and networked AI. We are experiencing a continuously growing number of use cases, developing more and more new modules, interfaces and features, which makes the use of robotics possible and sensible far beyond the pure patrol tasks originally envisaged.

Shaping the future of security SECURES YOUR future in the security market

While a lot is happening on the side of the robotics manufacturers (through further “players” on the market, upgrades or completely new models), network experts/software developers (expansion of ACUDA features, creation of new modules, data management, interfaces, etc.) and integrators (integration into differentiated security concepts, payload adaptations/developments, sensor technology, research deployments) such as Security Robotics, it does not yet look quite the same on the user/customer/project partner side.

Digitisation and process automation only take place – if at all – on the software side and are not yet consistently transferred to the “daily bread”, i.e. to everyday project work. Yet it is precisely here that enormous savings potentials of a time and financial nature exist, which can be planned and implemented in a sustainable + cost-efficient manner at the same time. And let’s not forget that many projects require agile and scalable, i.e. smart, action.

Information and market advantage through the use of key technologies

In the future, it will be precisely those companies in the security, facility management and maintenance sectors that are prepared to use key technologies and help shape them. Innovative service providers are already taking advantage of all the opportunities and are continuing to develop them. The otherwise often negative phrase “The product develops around the customer” is the norm. is the norm here, because projects, locations, clients, tasks, geographical & weather conditions and specific requirements are so diverse that one cannot speak of the all-in-one solution.

A constant exchange between customer <> service provider <> developer/integrator <> manufacturer is important, because necessary features can be defined and realistically implemented at an early stage + those involved gain invaluable experience. Of course, these results also flow into the area of process optimisation, future projects can be adapted and realised with less effort and financial resources. The understanding of digitisation processes and the wealth of experience of the employees grows and can also be optimally (further) conveyed in internal training courses. Collected data are processed by self-learning AI routines and allow not only their diverse use within the project, but also analyses and approaches for optimisation potential.

Smart security is active + intelligent + autonomous

Autonomous robotic systems work particularly economically with consistently high quality. Unaffected by human factors (such as fatigue, loss of motivation, illness, loss of concentration, etc.), environmental influences (darkness, fog, rain, snow, heat, dust) and personnel availability (shortage of skilled workers, training requirements, certifications, safety levels), robots perform defined tasks completely independently and permanently deliver camera, geo, status and sensor data via livestream to the ACUDA platform and all actuators, control centres or defined end devices involved in the network.

Integrated drone systems, walking robots or wheel-driven models can independently check sensor messages – or their possible failure, thus automatically verifying potential alarms and effectively ruling out typical false alarms. If a real incident occurs, the networked safety architecture recognises it at the outset and reacts immediately. Important decisions, such as those that have to be made in seconds, are therefore always made on the basis of the latest data and their AI-supported interpretation/analysis.

Being able to use the right – pre-qualified – data at the right time allows us to speak of genuine theft / sabotage prevention, because problems can be prevented, perpetrators deterred and well-informed reaction forces set in motion at an early stage.

More features, flexibility, quality, usecases?
Use more robots!

We always see technology as a support for humans, it never replaces them, but places them in neuralgic decision-making positions where they can make optimal use of their human abilities. Technology, on the other hand, achieves significantly more in the tasks assigned to it in less time, at a higher level or offers possibilities that a human being cannot provide purely anatomically.

Robotic systems can, if so defined for the task, act faster, smaller, stronger or more multifunctional than a human, perform repetitive tasks without loss of performance, work in hazardous environments (gravity, air pressure, gas composition, radiation, heat) and easily master physically demanding tasks. New sensory possibilities also open up, because AI-trained “technical” senses reach further, hear / see / smell / sense more, grasp and interpret everything simultaneously in a 360° radius and can therefore perform parallel tasks.

Modern patrol systems, for example, are able to follow their defined routines:

  • Check the condition of perimeter and other protection systems and safety technology for integrity and functionality.
  • To avoid obstacles independently, to mark them and, for example, to check the authorisations for parked objects in loading and storage zones
  • Recognise vehicles as such, count them, check their authorisation on the spot or report any discrepancies
  • To recognise, find, identify, check, report and track people as such, and to provide them with access to information or areas as required.
  • Communicate directly with people using sensitive microphones + loudspeakers with defined announcements, using clever voice databases and algorithms, or connecting an operator.
  • Check the environment or specific hotspots for gas leaks and analyse their composition
  • Detect and report radiation leaks and mark these zones on digital maps
  • Take temperature measurements, detect and evaluate temperature differences on stored goods, aggregates, facades, pipelines, vehicles, etc., send warnings
  • Read digital or analogue displays and send warnings when defined ranges are exceeded.
  • To create a digital image of the surroundings with millimetre precision when passing through them, thus enabling BIM and construction documentation, for example.
  • To manipulate equipment, levers, handles etc. by means of a 3-axis articulated arm and to carry out minor adjustments / work autonomously or remotely.

Let’s define THE standards for an effective interaction of robotics & security personnel

Therefore, as has long been the norm in the industrial sector, production and logistics, it is also necessary to rely increasingly on robots for the security sector and routine maintenance/inspection. The “dwindling” human resource must be relieved of simple repetitive routine tasks, positioned more purposefully and thus a close interaction with robotics must be established with intensive use of AI routines.

Standards for planning, integration, operation and all associated services such as service, maintenance, training should be thought out from the beginning in a resource-saving + sustainable way in close interaction between robotics and software experts such as our company and security service providers who work directly with the customer, and designed in such an agile way that projects remain scalable and new hardware and software innovations can be incorporated.

If we succeed in taking the right steps together, it will also be possible in the future to successfully and cost-effectively handle any kind of project requirements.
