Logo of ACUDA - Autonomous Center for Actors

Technical progress and digitalization are playing an ever greater role. Autonomous helpers are becoming increasingly interesting for many companies. They take on monotonous, repetitive or even dangerous tasks and deliver precise and high-quality results.

What comes to mind when we think of autonomous helpers? Is it lamps that switch on automatically or motion sensors in buildings? Or do we think of advanced systems such as robots that can walk, drive or fly?

These devices are organized like a small ecosystem. They perform their tasks reliably and accurately. But what if we could give these helpers a “superpower”? Similar to a swarm of ants or bees, they could work together and increase their efficiency in the process. Many of these devices have sensors that collect data. This data can be collected at a central location, a so-called “concentrator”. This creates an accurate picture of the situation, which leads to a better basis for decision-making.

Security systems such as cameras, motion sensors or light barriers could be combined with robots such as spot, Argus or the flying drone Bee work together. Drones offer a better overview from the air. These devices could work together in the field of inspection, for example. They could analyze buildings or systems, create digital twins and deliver results with high accuracy.

A central control system is needed to ensure that all systems work together smoothly. This takes over the coordination and ensures that the systems act as an intelligent swarm like an orchestra. The result is perfect cooperation, for example during security tasks or inspections.

This is precisely the function of ACUDA (β).

ACUDA – Platform

ACUDA is a software program from Security Robotics that connects various players. It provides communication protocols via a central REST API. This allows the actors to communicate with each other, send commands and interact with other systems.

One example of this is that systems connected to ACUDA send events to third-party control centers to quickly inform security staff about incidents. In the current version of ACUDA, information can also be sent to the control center of Dr. Pfau and Geutebrück control center. The system can also be easily connected to other control centers and video management systems (VMS).

Although ACUDA is still in the beta phase, it is already being actively used in customer projects. It is constantly being developed and improved to meet customer requirements.

Objects are grouped together in the “Home” tab of the ACUDA platform. This ensures clear organization and makes administration easier. At the same time, the availability of the individual objects is more visible, so that users can quickly gain an overview.

ACUDA

With the ACUDA platform, users can immediately see which groups the actors are assigned to and what state they are in. The user-friendly interface makes it easy to edit or reorganize groups.

ACUDA

Several actors can be assigned to each group, which are displayed in an overview. This means that the assignment to the objects remains clear. Regardless of whether they are static devices such as cameras, light barriers and video management systems or mobile, autonomous mobile security robots (AMSR) – they are all displayed at a glance.

Each actor has certain properties that are monitored by ACUDA. Based on specific events, ACUDA creates new actors or monitors existing actors and initiates ACUDA processes accordingly. Actors that have a video stream allow the user to access it directly from ACUDA to follow the current situation live.

The users and roles are managed accordingly by ACUDA so that each user only sees the actors and groups for which they are responsible.

Numerous players can be integrated into the system. What makes ACUDA an outstanding management platform is the ability to organize actors exactly as the customer wishes.

By continuously monitoring the actors, users and customers can view the availability of the devices at any time, track their current activities and check their status. This allows them to react to problem messages in good time.

ACUDA is a flexibly designed system that can be used both in a public cloud and within an internal network. This flexibility also allows the system to be used in security-critical environments where data must not leave the internal network

The central role of managing and controlling various stakeholders is to offer our customers a user-friendly platform that provides a comprehensive overview and control at a glance. We are convinced that with the ACUDA platform we offer a powerful tool that guarantees a perfect overview and efficient management of your stakeholders.
