Security Robotics Innovation Days 2024: Innovations and developments
The Security Robotics Innovation Days 2024 (ID24), which took place in Leipzig from August 13 to 15, presented the latest trends and technologies in security robotics. Under the motto “Adaptability – the power of evolution”, the event offered exciting insights into the future of the security industry.
Challenges in the security industry
The security industry is facing considerable challenges. According to the European Confederation of the Private Security Industry (CoESS), 92% of companies have difficulties finding qualified personnel. At the same time, 68% state that they have problems implementing new technologies. These challenges reinforce the need for modern solutions that increase efficiency and reduce costs at the same time.
Advantages of autonomous safety robots
Autonomous robots offer numerous advantages. They significantly improve the quality of security services and reduce operating costs at the same time. Compared to traditional security solutions, savings of 17% to 45% can be achieved by using autonomous systems. These savings come from lower labor costs, fewer human errors and continuous operational readiness around the clock.
Focus on technological advances
The ID24 trade fair was a central platform for presenting the possibilities and advances of autonomous robotics in the security sector. Particular emphasis was placed on how innovative systems can overcome current and future safety problems. Robots can be flexibly equipped with sensors and modules to adapt to different application scenarios. This allows them to perform several tasks simultaneously with high precision.
Interactive demonstrations: A practical insight
The interactive live demonstrations were a particular highlight of ID24. Visitors were able to try out the exhibited technologies for themselves and experience their functionality in realistic scenarios. These hands-on demonstrations clarified open questions and showed how versatile and powerful the systems are. The immersive experience, in which participants were able to slip into different roles, is particularly noteworthy. This provided a better understanding of how the systems work and the benefits they offer.
Systems and solutions presented
ID24 presented a range of advanced safety solutions that demonstrated the breadth and versatility of modern robot technology:
ARGUS
Argus impresses with its ability to monitor large areas over the long term. With state-of-the-art sensor technology and 5G connectivity, it offers reliable and efficient security monitoring.
BEEHIVE
BeeHive, an unmanned aerial surveillance system, delivers stable real-time images and provides support in the event of emergencies or major incidents. With intelligent analysis functions such as person recognition and data protection functions, it sets new standards in aerial surveillance.
PROMOBOT
Promobot offers interactive customer service and information solutions. Using voice and facial recognition, it can efficiently perform tasks such as health monitoring and document management.
GO 2
Go2, a compact walking robot, scores with its high speed and flexibility. It is particularly suitable for fast applications and inspection tasks.
G-FENCE 2400
The G-Fence 2400 system offers precise perimeter protection. It detects unauthorized activity on the fence and alerts the control center in real time, enabling a quick response.
NUCRON
Nucron transforms traditional devices into networked systems. It optimizes workflows and improves the use of resources through automation.
ACUDA
ACUDA is a central control platform that integrates all security systems. It enables efficient management and faster responses to incidents.
Projects and partnerships: Examples from practice
Ongoing projects and collaborations were also presented during ID24. Successful implementations show how safety robotics creates added value in different sectors:
-
Automotive industryOptimization of control processes in production facilities and warehouses.
-
Public transportationAutomated surveillance solutions improve security at railroad stations.
-
Research facilitiesProtection of sensitive areas and precise data collection.
-
Energy sectorRobust security measures for critical infrastructures.
-
LogisticsIncreasing efficiency in production and distribution centers.
In addition, partnerships were established with Agility One and Geutebrück were highlighted. These collaborations improve the integration of software and hardware solutions and expand the product range.
Networking as a success factor
The technologies presented emphasize the importance of seamless integration. Especially the ACUDA platform shows how different systems can be coordinated to make security processes more efficient.
“I found it very interesting. Unfortunately, I can’t use it in the company, we have various buildings scattered around the city, some of which are not fenced in. But it was great to see the robots in action. It was very impressive…thank you very much for the invitation.”
“First of all, thank you very much for the invitation to your Innovation Days. I found it to be a pleasant and entertaining yet very informative event that inspired me to come up with some ideas on how we can make good use of the Security Robotics portfolio at our site.
As a modern company in the semiconductor industry, it is of course our wish to use future-oriented technology in the field of safety. We are striving for future cooperation and would like to invite your team to Dresden as a next step in order to jointly develop suitable concepts for the use of safety robots.”
“In principle, the market for automated robots will grow strongly over the next few years, and robots will be indispensable in the future for certain areas of application such as perimeter protection. Security Robotics’ current portfolio is convincing, with the exception of the receiving robot, which is still too immature.”
“I am currently completing an apprenticeship in automation and robotics. In this context, I will be completing an internship to simulate an automated process.
I have the impression that the automation sector has great potential for the future. It can be used to overcome some of the major challenges of our time: Shortage of skilled workers, dealing with dangerous or repetitive tasks, simple individualization of products.
I have no experience in the field of security with robots. However, the potential for savings, safety and efficiency is obvious to me.”
“The event was very informative and informative. Especially since we went to Leipzig with the intention of getting to know each other better and concluding a partnership with Security Robotics in the near future.
In this respect, what we saw confirmed our existing impression that a great deal of commitment and technical expertise is being invested in researching and developing new mobile technologies to improve monitoring quality and efficiency. I myself was able to gain some new insights into the robots and have thus gained a better understanding of the technologies used.
It’s great to see these robots and the drone in action and it makes you want to use this technology in customer projects yourself.”
Outlook for future events
ID24 was a complete success and offered valuable insights into the future of security robotics. For all those who were unable to attend, there is a new opportunity: From September 17 to 20, 2024, the Messe Essen there will be another presentation of innovative safety solutions.
