Person recognition

13. Mar 2024

Person recognition refers to the ability of camera systems, e.g. on board mobile robots, drones, etc., to identify and distinguish human individuals. Various (depth) sensors, cameras and AI-supported image processing technologies are used for this purpose. Recognising people enables active robots to react specifically to the presence of humans, whether by avoiding collisions, interactions or reporting unusual activities. This is particularly relevant in security applications, surveillance systems and other scenarios in which the identification of people plays an important role.
